Mother's Day Blessing

Retreat Reflection on Mother’s Day Blessing

Mother’s Day is always a painful day for me since losing my son, Peter, to a brain anneurysm. I loved being his mom and embraced every part of the 16-year journey, Reflecting and writing this blessing helps put me in a space of honoring the holy roller-coaster of motherhood. I am grateful for my precious daughter, Taylor, and my own special and supportive mom.

God bless you on this Mother’s Day, wherever you are in your stage of motherhood.

A Mother’s Day Blessing

Bless you

if you are a mother who joyfully loves her kids and mom unconditionally.

May you continue to embrace one of the most sacred relationships in life.

Bless you

if you are deep in the world of driving kids, wiping noses, and scrambling for dinner.

May you take a moment to breathe in the beauty of all that you do and all that you are.

Bless you

if you are feeling lonely and unappreciated or flawed and broken today.

May you be gentle with yourself in the acknowledgment that motherhood is not an easy journey.

Bless you

if you do not have kids and give birth to God's love and kindness to your friends and family every day.

May you feel God’s gratitude for your nurturing heart.

Bless you

if you are the mother of a special needs child.

May you feel Divine courage in your most depleted moments of exhaustion and despair and support in your times of loneliness.

Bless you

if your child is graduating from high school this month and your heart is aching.

May you trust that letting go brings opportunities of growth for your graduate and you.

Bless you

if you have lost a child and today is a day of pain.

May we be comforted with a connection to our child’s spirit and our mother-child bond in a special way.

Bless you

if you have lost your mother and you are really missing her today.

May you find peace in honoring all that she was for you and may you feel a comforting hug from her in your heart.

Bless you

if you are a biological, adoptive, step, foster, guardian, auntie, special friend - anyone giving motherly love. May you feel the love that you pass on to others. May you celebrate the significance of this very special day.
